About Aphoristic Thoughts
I have spent eighteen years in global technology, supported more than fifteen countries professionally and worked alongside more than thirty nationalities. Three of those countries have become home. This page explains how I got here, and why Aphoristic Thoughts exists
The two careers and what they taught me
For nearly a decade I worked in international Human Resources, supporting more than fifteen countries across Asia, Europe, and North America. Working across so many countries gave me a genuine view into the full span of human dynamics at work, including culture, geo-centric sensitivities, the weight of history and the values that each upbringing quietly installs in a person.
The years that followed moved me into international sales and alliances. The work shifted from holding space to building bridges, between companies, between cultures, and between what gets said in a first meeting and what actually endures after it. The skill was the same and only the surface changed.
The three countries that became home.
Japan taught me that silence is not empty, and that the most important thing said in a meeting is often the pause before anyone speaks.
The United Kingdom taught me the weight of words chosen carefully. Nothing said in haste survives there and I have carried that discipline into every conversation and every sentence since.
The United States, where I live now, taught me that it is alright to take up space, to say what I think and to believe that my own voice has a place in the conversation. Each country has left a different grammar on how I speak and how I write.
The inner work.
Alongside the professional career, am an advanced practitioner of Eastern contemplative traditions for many years. Meditation, Kriya and the quiet disciplines of attention have been steady companions. I write as a practitioner who has tested them against the full complexity of modern professional and personal life.
Alongside the practice, I have built credentials in the more formal bridges between inner and outer life:
- Certified Professional Coach, Erickson International (160 hours), with 600+ hours of one-on-one coaching practice
- Certified Trainer, Dale Carnegie Institute
- Certified in the Art and Science of Transformational Training, Dr. Marilyn Atkinson, founder of Erickson International
- Executive MBA, one-year program, Harvard Business School Online
- Certified in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, FranklinCovey
- Thomas International Certified Professional, HJA and personality profiling
What you will read here has been sitting on both sides of the human experience for a long time. One side leads and delivers while the other side asks what any of it is for.
Why Aphoristic Thoughts exists.
The wisdom traditions of the East have been asking the most important human questions for thousands of years. What is suffering and what ends it? What is the self and what is larger than it? How do we live, love, grieve, forgive, and let go?
These are not new questions and every generation eventually arrives at them. What has been missing for the modern reader is not the wisdom. It is the translation.
The original texts were written for monks and initiates, in languages built for a different era of attention. The bridge between those original words and the modern life is rarely built.
Aphoristic Thoughts is my attempt to build that bridge.
Not by diluting the wisdom into affirmations but by carrying it carefully into the language of the lives we are actually living.
Why this is for everyone.
Am a firm believer of the fact that The inner life is the most sacred human experience one can ever experience.
Wishing you a sacred journey through every emotion, belief and quiet understanding of self that lies ahead, one article at a time
With warmth,
Kamala Manohari
